6-year-old Adriana!
Starlight Canada and long-time partner, Toys“R”Us Canada, have come together once again to help a seriously ill child create their very own unique bear, from the ears all the way to the paws. This year, the lucky Starlight child selected to design the 17th Limited Edition Collectible Starlight Bear® for 2025 was 6-year-old Adriana!
When Adriana was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), her world changed overnight. Treatment challenged her body and mind, but her laughter, imagination, and bright spirit never wavered.
Named after the periwinkle flower, the bear honours a powerful part of Adriana’s journey—a chemotherapy drug derived from the flower that played a vital role in her fight against cancer.
Periwinkle’s cream colour symbolizes hope and new beginnings. The gold ribbon and accents honour all children affected by childhood cancer, while the pink and purple bows reflect Adriana’s favourite colours. A gold butterfly marks the spot where Adriana’s Port-a-Cath was used to deliver treatment, symbolizing the strength and resilience that carried her forward.
Proceeds from the sale of Periwinkle will help Starlight Canada continue to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families, just like Adriana’s.
