It starts with one moment of empathy.

When you’re a parent, it’s impossible not to imagine your own child in someone else’s shoes—especially when those shoes belong to a seriously ill child in the hospital.
For Frank Dalphond of Sekure Payment Experts, father of two young girls, that thought hit close to home. With his daughters Chloe and Abby in good health, he couldn’t help but wonder: What if it were them? What if they were the ones facing fear, pain, and isolation inside a hospital room?

So, he took action.
Frank donated a Starlight Handheld gaming system to his local hospital, Hôpital Saint-Eustache in Quebec—dedicating it in honour of Chloe and Abby. Their names are now proudly displayed on the device, serving as a small but powerful reminder of compassion in the face of unimaginable challenges.
His hope? That every child who picks it up feels just a little bit of what every child deserves: joy, distraction, and the freedom to just be a kid.
“I hope this helps kids just be kids for a little while when they’re in the hospital,” shared Frank. “Not the kid with cancer or a serious illness. Just a child having fun, laughing, and forgetting their worries.”

The Starlight Handheld is a portable gaming system that delivers comfort, connection, and a break from treatment—right into the hands of hospitalized kids. Pre-loaded with hours of entertainment, it turns fear into fun and pain into play.
For Frank, it was about giving kids something simple yet powerful: a chance to feel like themselves again.
“As a dad, seeing my own daughters’ names on something that brings joy to another child is powerful,” Frank said. “It’s a way to show them the impact of giving back. When you help others, you feel good too. To give them relief, and to help take their minds off their serious illnesses, even for a little while. That’s why we do it, and we love doing it.”
Just like Frank, you can turn a moment of empathy into real impact. There are children in your own community facing long, difficult days in the hospital—and your gift can help change that.
Whether it’s a Starlight Handheld, a Comfort Kit, a toy delivery, or another item from the Hospital Wish List, your donation brings joy, comfort, and connection right to their bedside.
You can even dedicate your gift in honour of someone you love—just like Frank did for Chloe and Abby.

More than a donor. A changemaker.
Frank’s story doesn’t end with a single gift. He’s also a longtime Drive For Smiles participant, a Starlight Open committee member, and a proud ambassador for joy and inclusion for seriously ill children. His wife, Sarah Jansen, gives back through “Tea & Tiaras” in Montreal—making generosity a family value passed on to their daughters.
That spirit of giving extends to Frank’s workplace, too. Sekure Payment Experts—where he’s a co-founder—is returning as a proud sponsor of the 2025 Starlight Open, with strong support from partner and friend Eyal Artzy, who continues to champion the cause alongside him.
“Starlight is near and dear to my heart,” said Frank. “With them, you see the impact right away and you know where your support is going. Kids get to just be kids. It’s money well spent.”
Let Frank’s story be your spark. Start with one moment. One gift. One child.
